Mr. Fralin was born in Union Hall, Virginia and with a 7 th grade education plowed the farmland around him from the age of 11 until he married at the age of Starting a new job, he followed the exodus with his wife into Roanoke to work at the silk mill later known as the American Viscose.

He is a member of the Governor’s Commission on Higher Education Reform Innovation and Investment and the Virginia Business Council and is Chairman of the Virginia Business Higher Education Council.
